My choice to become an orthodontist began in middle school through the inspiration of my own orthodontist in New York. I remember the wonderful relationship he and his assistants had with each patient. I was amazed how even 15 years after my treatment he remembered things about me and my family. Through his example I strive each day to do the same in my practice. I believe that orthodontics is the greatest job in the world. I get to create a little bit of happiness every single day, whether it is through the unveiling of a new smile, giving someone a pat on the back, or helping a person in need.
I am truly passionate about patient-centered care. Orthodontics can mean different things to different people just as each person’s treatment needs and concerns will be different. I believe in getting to know my patients as individuals and providing the appropriate amount of care for them at the right time. I don’t believe in “cookie cutter” plans. I love finding just the right solution for each one.
Here at the office our team
maintains a positive outlook with all that we do, because even though getting a great smile can take time, we always know we will get there! There is nothing more rewarding than sharing a patient’s reaction when he or she sees their radiant smile and perfect bite.
One of my great passions is our office-sponsored Candy Buy Back program, which we have been doing since 2008. Over this period of time we have accumulated almost 3,000 pounds of excess candy from trick-or-treaters, and as a reward for the donation the kids receive cash. We match these contributions with donations to the Boys and Girls club of Bellevue. We have also been a provider for the Smiles Change Lives non-profit program, providing pro-bono orthodontic care to kids in need.
I attended Bucknell University for my undergraduate degree and then did my graduate work at Georgetown University, finally receiving my dental doctorate at Columbia University where I focused on orthodontics. I am very dedicated to continuing education and I organize study groups for general dentists and specialists so that we can stay up-to-date on the latest research and techniques in dentistry. These study groups also give us a chance to work collaboratively to make sure patients receive coordinated and efficient treatment when needed.
